Pelatihan english for tourism bagi siswa di kawasan destinasi wisata di SMA IT Ash-Shiddiq Jeruk Manis Lombok Timur

Abstrak
Siswa sekolah menengah yang berada di kawasan destinasi wisata merupakan kelompok potensial yang dapat dipersiapkan sebagai generasi pendukung pariwisata berkelanjutan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: 1) Meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa mengenai konsep dasar English for Tourism sebagai bagian dari kompetensi komunikasi yang dibutuhkan dalam industri pariwisata. 2) Meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris siswa dalam situasi yang berkaitan dengan aktivitas pariwisata, seperti menyambut wisatawan, memperkenalkan objek wisata, memberikan informasi, menjelaskan budaya lokal, dan memberikan petunjuk arah. 3) Mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara (speaking skills) siswa melalui praktik, simulasi, dan kegiatan komunikasi yang sesuai dengan konteks pelayanan wisata. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan Perticipatory Action Research (PAR). Hasil Pelaksanaan adalah: 1) Pelatihan English for Tourism berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa mengenai bahasa Inggris pariwisata, khususnya terkait kosakata, ungkapan, dan pola komunikasi yang digunakan dalam pelayanan wisata. 2) Kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah mengikuti pelatihan, terutama pada aspek memperkenalkan destinasi wisata, memberikan informasi kepada wisatawan, menjelaskan potensi wisata lokal, serta melakukan percakapan sederhana yang berkaitan dengan aktivitas kepariwisataan. 3) Pelatihan berhasil meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menggunakan bahasa Inggris, yang ditunjukkan melalui meningkatnya partisipasi peserta dalam kegiatan role play, presentasi, dan simulasi pelayanan wisata.
