Pemanfaatan Cerita Rakyat Sasak Sebagai Media Pembelajaran IPS untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Kewarganegaraan Siswa Sekolah Dasar di Kabupaten Lombok Barat

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation and analyze the effectivenes of using Sasak folktales as a learning medium in Social Studies education to enhance elementari school students understanding of civic concepts in West Lombok Regency . The research employs a quantitative method with a quasi experimental design, involving two classes selectedas samples through ourposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using written tests measuring understanding of civic concepts, administered before and after the learning process, as well as observation during classroom activities. The results show that Social Studies lesson using Sasak folktales proceeded actively and engagingly. There was a significant increase in the average score of students understanding of civic concepts, rising from 58.2 to 82.7 after the implementation of this medium. This study concludes that Sasak filktales are effective as a learning medium for Social Studies, as they bridge abstract concepts with students real-life experiences while simultaneouslypreserving local cultural wisdom.
