The development of social media in the digital era has facilitated access to and the dissemination of information, but it has also created challenges in the form of hoaxes, disinformation, hate speech, and violations of digital rights. This study aims to analyze the tabayyun paradigm in Qur’an Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 6, as a foundation for digital literacy ethics and its relevance to the protection of digital rights. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach through an analysis of Qur’anic exegesis, digital literacy literature, and studies on social media ethics. The data were analyzed descriptively and analytically by examining the meaning of tabayyun in the context of digital communication. The findings indicate that tabayyun embodies the principles of information verification, caution in receiving information, and moral responsibility in disseminating information. These principles are relevant to preventing the spread of false information, protecting privacy, respecting individual rights in digital spaces, and fostering healthy communication. Therefore, tabayyun can serve as a normative guideline for developing a critical, moderate, and responsible digital society.
