Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Multikultural, Komunikasi Interkultural dan Suasana Akademik terhadap Toleransi Kebhinekaan di SMP Negeri Kabupaten Jayapura

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of multicultural leadership, intercultural communication and the academic atmosphere on tolerance of diversity in state junior secondary schools in Jayapura Regency. A quantitative method was employed, involving a survey of 206 teachers from five state junior secondary schools, with a sample of 135 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results of the study indicate that multicultural leadership has a significant positive effect on tolerance of diversity (coefficient 0.231), intercultural communication has a significant positive effect (0.359), and the academic atmosphere also has a significant positive effect (0.259). Taken together, these three variables exert a significant influence, with an R² value of 0.517. This means that 51.7 per cent of the variation in tolerance of diversity can be explained by multicultural leadership, intercultural communication and the academic atmosphere, whilst 48.3 per cent is influenced by other factors outside the research model.
