Abstract

This study aims to improve the Mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at MI NW Suela through the implementation of the Deep Learning Approach. This study employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles involving 25 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observations of student and teacher activities and learning outcome tests. The findings demonstrated a progressive improvement in learning activities, increasing from 70% in Cycle I to 90% in Cycle II. Teacher activity also increased from 82.5% to 97.5%. Students’ learning mastery improved from 32% in the pre-cycle to 60% in Cycle I and 80% in Cycle II. The mean learning score increased from 68.00 to 69.04 and subsequently to 76.00. These findings indicate that the Deep Learning Approach effectively enhances student engagement and Mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, this approach can serve as an alternative instructional strategy for improving Mathematics learning in elementary Islamic schools.
